Daniel getting ready to unload junk at the dump. This was load 3 of 4 from the property of a hoarder that was ordered to be cleared by the city. A big mess that Daniel got done in no time!
A typical job. Big pile of a whole bunch of junk piled in the driveway. A couple of mattresses. Big old BBQ. A computer and a few laptops. Computer monitors, printers, and other electronics. A wood pallet. There are even 2 lawnmowers buried in there! Ended up being three and a half loads.
All the junk gone from the job above with the final half load in the truck. Since we already took away 3 full loads, the customer was only charged $125 for the last half load. 😇
When we load branches we stomp them down 2 to 3 times, packing in as many as we can. This load had quite a few large branches which we cut down to about 6' so that they would fit nicely into the truck.
Loading a king mattress isn't easy! They're bulky, floppy, and weigh about 200 lbs. If you have a king mattress to get rid of, please have it in the driveway so that we can back right up to it. Also, a king mattress and the box spring are a full load. We may be able to fit a few other things in the truck, but since we can't close the tailgate with a king mattress loaded, we usually can't take anything else.
A hot tub cover, an old BBQ, and a bunch of bags full of everything imaginable from a shed cleanout. If we only have to bag 4 or 5 bags of garbage, there is no extra charge. But if we have to go into a house and bag a lot and remove junk from a house, then we charge an extra $25 per load.
This job was a repeat customer who has used our service many times over the years. He is very organized! You don't have to be this organized, but we do appreciate it! 😊
The above job all loaded up, including a 16' ladder, a broken power washer, some tile, a bunch of scrap wood, and some other odds and ends.
Just another day at the office for us. We sorted it all — since carboard, metal, etc. gets recycled — and load it up. This pile was 2 loads.
A shed cleanout. We bagged everything and hauled it out from the back yard. There was an extra charge of $25 for this load, so $220 total.
A load of tenant leftovers. The tenants left a big mess that the landlord just didn't want to deal with. We went in and bagged all the garbage and removed all the junk which was a big relief for the customer! She gladly paid the extra $25 per load for us to do all that work. This job ended up being 5 loads, done in one day.
A full load of assorted household junk. Everything from board games to fence posts to patio furniture.
Some construction debris. The boards were 10' long so we cut them with our handy little battery-operated Mastercraft Circular Saw so that they would fit into the truck. The load included some concrete chunks, siding, insulation, etc. Please make sure things like concrete chunks are less than 50 lbs. Our crew do hundreds of loads a year, so they have to be careful not to wreck their backs, a common problem in our industry.
A full load of metal. All metal gets recycled, from large items like fridges down to small items like cutlery.
Once upon a time, this pile of old wood used to be a beautiful deck. Not anymore! Hauling away the wood from a demolished deck is a common job for TheJunkGuy.ca. No need to remove nails or anything like that. Just make a pile in the driveway, and we'll haul it away! Pieces should be cut to no longer than 6' but if there are a few long pieces, that's no problem, we can cut them to the proper size. If there is a lot of cutting to do, then we may charge an extra $25 to $50 per load. This pile of wood was 2 loads. |
This load contained a propane tank, small appliances, a vacuum cleaner, some old lawn chairs, and all sorts of other items. Normally, a full load is up to the middle rack of the truck, but in this case we were able to throw the patio table on top and secure it with a bungee cord, which actually made the load more secure because the patio table kept everything in place. So, sometimes we can load the truck above the middle rack...if it's safe to do so!
A hot tub all cut up and loaded into the truck. It usually takes 2 loads to haul away a cut up hot tub. The cost to cut up and haul away a hot tub is $495 ($595 if the hot tub is sunk into a deck).
This job was 3 loads. The first 2 loads were junk, while the third load was all the metal. It included an old fridge, hot water tank, outdoor patio heater, some lawn chairs, and some old bikes. This is the way we typically do a multi-load job. First, we sort the stuff as we load the first load, taking the junk in the first loads, leaving the electronics, metal, and other recyclables until the last load.
A fire hazard! This pile of scrap wood against the back of a school was too tempting for some mischievous kids who tried to light it on fire one night. Luckily, only a few boards burned before the fire department arrived. The fire department ordered the school to remove the fire hazard. The school contacted us and we removed the fire hazard the same day.
We did many loads for this customer over the course of 5 months as they renovated their house. This load included 12 interior doors and a bunch of bags of mostly insulation and wood cuttings, which we bagged.
This 14' old wooden boat was too big to fit into our truck, so we cut it up and loaded it in. We charged $100 for the labour to cut it up and all the pieces fit in one load, so the total cost was $295.
A full load of hedge trimmings. This was the first of 9 loads for this customer! It must have been a wild hedge, because the "trimmings" were the size of branches. Since we had to haul them out from the backyard, this job took a couple of days.
A washing machine, dryer, stove, mini fridge, with a couch thrown on top. It looks like there's a wheelbarrow in there too!
Do you have a big, messy pile of construction debris? No problem! We'll sort it all and haul it all away in no time.
A fridge with a couch on top with 6 kitchen table chairs piled on top of that. To the right of the fridge is some miscellaneous household junk. This is definitely a FULL load! Bungee straps held the chairs firmly in place, so it's not a problem to throw wooden kitchen table chairs on top of an already full load.
An old mattress, a tire, patio chairs, cat climber tree, cat beds, dog beds, scrap wood, outdoor planters, some bags of junk, and an unknown wooden thingy thrown on top. |
